Create a simple marketing plan to sign coaching clients
If you’re a solopreneur coach, the last thing you want is to spend hours posting on social media, trying every new “guru tip,” and still wondering why it feels so hard to sign clients.
The truth? There’s no silver bullet like going viral on Instagram. What you need is a clear, effective, and focused marketing plan you can actually stick to — one that connects the dots from your offer, to your content, to consistent clients.
Here’s a breakdown of the 5 steps to creating a marketing plan that’s simple, spacious, and sustainable.
Step 1: Start With Your Offer
Your marketing doesn’t begin with content — it begins with your offer.
Most coaches get stuck because their offer isn’t crystal-clear or compelling enough. Before worrying about posts or platforms, ask:
What transformation does my coaching actually deliver?
Who is the specific person I’m speaking to?
Why is this the best solution for them right now?
When your offer is irresistible, all of your marketing has a foundation to stand on. Without it, even the best content won’t convert.
Step 2: Define Your Messaging
Messaging is the heartbeat of your marketing. It’s how you bridge the gap between what you offer and what your ideal clients need to hear.
Using my ACES Framework (Attract, Connect, Enlighten, Sell), you’ll craft messaging that:
Catches attention (Attract)
Builds trust and emotional connection (Connect)
Shifts beliefs and shows why your solution works (Enlighten)
Invites clients to take the next step (Sell)
Clear, repeatable messaging makes you stand out in a noisy market.
Step 3: Design Your Client Journey
Instead of scatter-gun posting, think of marketing as guiding clients through 3 phases:
Attract – Reaching new people with short-form content, guest spots, or a freebie.
Nurture – Building trust with long-form content, podcasts, blogs, or emails.
Sell – Inviting them into discovery calls, masterclasses, or directly into your offer.
Choose 1–2 activities in each phase and focus on doing them well. That’s far more powerful than trying to be everywhere.
Step 4: Pick Your Platforms
Less is more. Don’t spread yourself thin posting on every platform. Choose the spaces where:
Your ideal clients actually hang out
You enjoy showing up
The type of content you love creating thrives
Do one or two platforms really well before expanding.
Step 5: Create Weekly Rhythms & Habits
Consistency doesn’t mean “do everything.” It means having a rhythm you can repeat.
👉 Example rhythm for coaches:
1 podcast or blog per week (long-form authority)
2–3 short social posts (repurposed)
1 email newsletter (connection + invite)
Track both your actions (e.g. 10 invites per week) and your results (e.g. 2 new clients). Then refine and adjust instead of reinventing the wheel.
Repeat. Refine. Repurpose.
A marketing plan that actually works isn’t about hustle. It’s about repeating what works, refining based on results, and repurposing your best content so you stay consistent without burning out.
When you put these 5 steps together, you’ll stop throwing spaghetti at the wall and start building a marketing engine that actually gets clients.
